A LITTLE CLOSER
The journey, at a glance.
A more considered Nubra stay, with village time and a pause between road days.
Ladakh calls for time, care and a route shaped around its altitude. Our journeys begin with two full rest days in Leh before local sightseeing and any higher-route travel. Discover the region’s cultural spaces, the Nubra landscape and the changing colours of Pangong on a responsibly paced route.
This 7-night journey is planned for slow journeys, with the route and pace described below. Accommodation choices, exact activity arrangements and final availability are confirmed in your personalised quotation. Prices shown are indicative per person on twin sharing.
The moments to look forward to
- A gentle introduction to Leh
- Towards the Nubra Valley
- A village day towards Turtuk
- Nubra, without a checklist
One day at a time.
DAY 01Arrive in Leh and rest

Meet your driver and transfer directly to your Leh hotel. Keep the rest of the day entirely free for acclimatisation; there is no sightseeing or higher-route travel planned. Leh’s altitude makes rest the priority immediately after arrival. Keep the day free of sightseeing and follow your clinician’s advice for your own health circumstances. Your confirmed arrival instructions will name the pickup point and hotel; timing depends on your actual flight or train and local traffic.
DAY 02A complete rest day in Leh

Continue the arrival rest period with a second quiet hotel day. There are no excursions or exertional activities scheduled. Subsequent plans remain subject to how you feel and local guidance. Use the second day to continue acclimatising, not to make up missed sightseeing. Discuss any symptoms or concerns with a qualified medical professional. The day stays deliberately flexible. Any paid outing, treatment, or special meal is optional unless it appears in your written quotation.
DAY 03A gentle introduction to Leh

After at least 48 hours of complete rest, take a short, carefully paced local introduction to Leh’s cultural landmarks if you are comfortable to proceed. Return to your hotel without overfilling the day. A short local outing introduces the culture without a long drive. Proceed only if you feel well, and keep the visit flexible enough to return early. Opening hours, traffic, and the season can change the order of visits; the confirmed itinerary will identify what is included and what remains optional.
DAY 04Towards the Nubra Valley

Travel by the permitted high-pass route to Nubra, subject to current road conditions and your readiness to proceed. Build in appropriate breaks and settle into your valley stay on arrival. This is a significant mountain-road day. Travel only when permits, conditions, and your readiness allow, with stops and arrival time kept realistic. Your final route will state the overnight base, transport arrangement, and any agreed stop, with a realistic allowance for the journey.
DAY 05A village day towards Turtuk

Take a day excursion towards Turtuk where access and your permissions allow. Explore village character respectfully with your local guide and return to your Nubra base. The village is reached by a longer excursion from Nubra. Check permissions and road time, and be considerate in residential areas. Opening hours, traffic, and the season can change the order of visits; the confirmed itinerary will identify what is included and what remains optional.
DAY 06Nubra, without a checklist

Spend a quiet day around your stay, with optional short local visits agreed with your guide. It is a pause between the longer road sections of the journey. A slower day provides a useful break between high-pass drives. Enjoy the valley close to your stay or choose one short outing. The day stays deliberately flexible. Any paid outing, treatment, or special meal is optional unless it appears in your written quotation.
DAY 07Back through the mountain landscape

Return to Leh on the road route confirmed with your local team. Leave the evening free after the drive, with time to settle back into your hotel. The return drive can take much of the day. Avoid committing to an evening activity and give yourself time to rest in Leh. Your final route will state the overnight base, transport arrangement, and any agreed stop, with a realistic allowance for the journey.
DAY 08Until the next horizon

Transfer to Leh airport according to your confirmed departure. Keep your final morning simple and allow the necessary time for airport formalities. The short road to the airport still requires early preparation and security time. Keep the morning free of sightseeing or a rushed transfer. We will confirm the pickup time, departure point, and any final meal arrangements once your onward travel details are known.
