Kerala: finding your perfect pace
Tea hills, backwaters or the beach? A guide to choosing a Kerala route that feels like you.

Give each landscape its own time
Kerala is a collection of distinct experiences. Munnar invites you into the hills, Fort Kochi rewards a walk without a strict schedule, and the backwaters are at their best when you let the day slow down. Choose a route that leaves space between the changes.
Look beyond the number of stops
A shorter trip does not need to include every region. Three nights can make a thoughtful Kochi-and-backwater escape. A longer holiday allows you to add tea country and Thekkady without making every day a transfer.
Know your overnight stay
A houseboat and a lakeside resort offer different rhythms. Ask about boat categories, cruising hours and meal arrangements, or choose a resort if you prefer a fixed base and shorter water outings.
Make the last day realistic
Your final hotel and departure airport need to work together. Allow a sensible road transfer so the holiday ends as calmly as it began.
